Yesterday as the temperature dropped to minus 3-4c, friends brought me 10 bags of coal and 2 bags of kindling. Naturally, the warmth of the fire downstairs has drawn me away from the computer upstairs...
A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.

Move the computer downstairs John, but how I envy your open fire, I love going around to my youngest daughter's place with her lovely large open fire.
The only trouble I seem to be the one that pays for it to be stoked!
BB: I have been thinking of doing just that for a year or two. This time I should do it and stop thinking about it!
Or just sit in front of that fire with a good book or some research :-)
