Staying out of prison - isnt that as simple as trying not to kill anyone while out walking your dog?

4 and 5 are in the right order - always better to waste your time than waste your money - but I reckon you could move number 6 up a bit. A s***, shave and shower could get you in the right frame of mind for typing up that autobiography.
I get the feeling deni is the sort of person who would knock your pint over, call your girlfriend a slag, then ring the police station to complain about the ensuing slap.
Like Tony Blair sending troops into battle - distance is often needed for fighting talk... but not for wiser words.
Why would anybody in their right mind want to knock over somebodies pint. If there was a little more respect in the world and a little less violence the world would be a better place.
The only violence that can be justified is capital punishment, and that only because it makes the world safer.
If capital punishment is soooo effective, why is it that countries who still practice it never seem to run out of candidates ? Not the best sign of an effective deterrent, is it ?
As for respect - wouldn't it be a tad disrespectful to hang someone who was wrongfully convicted ? Or would you only hang those who plead Guilty ?
It's a never-ending argument, but even with concrete proof of guilt, can you be sure that capital punishment makes the world safer ? Would hanging the Birmingham Six or the Guildford Four have been a good idea, either in the short term (at the height of the Troubles) or in the long term (around the time they were acquitted on appeal) ? Sometimes you'll only breed martyrs.
I refer the honourable commenter to the traditional "I've come for the man who killed my Pa".
Capital punishment has no more made the world safer than having a checkbook full of checks has made me richer.
And when the time comes to settle our accounts, the great Bank Manager himself will have to decide whether we've been good customers or not. Maybe, just maybe, it'll turn out that to have a good credit score, you need to have been in debt once or twice.
I've been a police officer for nearly 20 years. Before that I was in the armed forces and, before that, I had the occasional brush with the law. I've been in positions where it's been touch and go on the self-control front too many times to count, but my upbringing and force of habit tends towards behaving myself.
For people who've crossed the line already, or have spent their lives having to fight their corner in one way or another, maintaining self-control is an accomplishment in itself. You can never undo what's been done, but you can try like hell to make sure you don't increase your debts on the balance sheet.

I agree with "deni" there. Twisted stalkers should suffer capital punishment. Especially stalkers with multiple identities.

I suspect that deni was looking for a flame war or to hurt, neither were successful. I wonder where s/he got the idea s/he is in their right mind in the first place? Sounds like a bit of a fruitcake to me. There appears to be a contradiction in what respect entails, for example, posting a comment that is barbed. This shows a lack of respect. I don't believe that capital punishment can be justified violence. Why it even came up is a mystery, unless deni is suggesting that I should have been hung, which is a nonsense statement to make and is ignorant. I like the bank balance analogy, it about sums up my view.

Blog/forum - I'm new to all this, so Sorry if my ramblings (and tendency to cross swords in passing) have crossed a line somewhere. I'll have to research some of the niceties, as a flame war sounds interesting.
