I thought I had heard everything until I came across this report of a man selling a woman to lorry drivers for fuel.
I cannot understand why the judge did not impose a discretionary life sentence given that he was in a position to do so as rape carries a maximum sentence of life. Instead he chose to pass the discredited Indeterminate Public Protection sentence (IPPs) with a tariff that he serve a minimum of 5 years.
