Madeleine's parents face social services probe in the UK
At long last the Social services have woken up to the fact that a pair of suspected child killers have still got 2 year old twins in their "care". At the very least the McCanns neglected and/or abandoned the twins for up to 3 hours whilst they went out for a night's drinking and a meal at a Tapas Bar whilst they were holidaying in Portugal. This is London reports:
"Social services in the UK are probing Madeleine McCann's family amid fears that parents Kate and Gerry will be charged with killing their daughter, it emerged today.
Police and social services chiefs were today meeting to discuss the future of the family now that they have returned to their home in Rothley, Leicestershire.
The talks will focus on the care of Gerry and Kate McCanns' two-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie, in the light of the allegations made against the couple in recent days.
The confidential meeting comes as police in Portugal begin fresh searches in "specific locations" in Praia da Luz, where Madeleine went missing 130 days ago".

I must say I admire you for taking a more skeptical view about the Madeleine situation, because some people just seem to worship the ground that Jerry and Kate walk on. Whether they have done something to Madeleine or know about something is a separate issue to the fact that they still left 3 children on their own and should go to prison for that; if nothing else. How desperate for a belly-full could you be to leave your children alone in an apartment in a foreign country?
dilated mind: I just cut through the bullshit that is ploughed in front of us. At the very least they are guilty of child neglect and/or child abandonment. And, that was my starting point. I couldn't get past why they would leave their children when there was a creche available, baby sitting services, and baby monitors. I don't think it is what responsible, professional, people should do. They haven't really got an answer to this charge. And, that's not counting the disappearance and possible death of Madeleine.
about time! leaving children home alone has been a statutory offence since the "children & young persons act" of 1933.
africanmum: It was that Act that I had in mind when I first heard that they had left their children home alone.
Ibelieve the parents of Madeline were so wrong to leave their children on their own to self indulge in a social evening that it amounts to gross negligence. It therefore warrants an investigation by Social Services to examine if teir other children are at risk
