Madeleine: A few thoughts

Madeleine: A few thoughts

The Portuguese police are trying to piece together the 4 hour period between 6pm and 10pm on 3rd of May. Following on from this post. One of the reasons that Kate McCann claimed that she knew Madeleine had been abducted was that she noticed the open shutters, and Cuddle Cat had been placed on the mantlepiece which was out of reach of Madeleine.

We know that Gerry McCann left the Tapas Bar at approximately 9pm and upon leaving the apartment he bumped into Jeremy Wilkins and they spoke for about 10 minutes. It may be that Gerry McCann had opened the shutters from the inside and was fiddling about with them outside to fake the break-in and was disturbed by Jeremy Wilkins. To allay suspicion he stopped to talk for awhile.

Had Madeleine been abducted, I feel that the Cuddle Cat would have been left on the bed or possibly taken along with Madeleine. On the other hand, as Madeleine was already dead and had no further use for it I suspect that one of the McCanns moved Cuddle Cat whilst they were tidying up and setting the scene and placed Cuddle Cat on the mantlepiece.

Update: I suspect that it is a new case, could the old one have been used to move Madeleine's body from the apartment?

And had Madeleine been abducted, the abducters would have been clever enough not to abduct a child sleeping in a room where another two children were sleeping.

How could the abductor possibly had abducted Madeleine without waking her and her smaller siblings up?

And a child of two years age is old enough to understand that something is wrong if an unknown person is entering the room in which they sleep. They would normally also remember this and be able to tell others about it.

A far more likely explanation is that there were no abductor.

maybe all the children had been sedated?

Yeah anon 9.34, I'm with you on this one. I just read that Kate McCann was an anaesthetist before turning to gynaecology, and later, a part-time general practitioner. All makes me wonder about her competency, among other things.

Pages 4 and 5 of the London Evening Standard have some very revealing comments about the situation from 3 of the McCanns friends

Jane Tanner told police she saw a man carrying a child from the apartment wrapped in a blanket at 9.15pm and yet was able to give a description of the child’s pyjamas as well as the man but did not recognise the child as being Madeline

Matthew Olfield says he checked on the McCann children at 9.30 but did but did not look to see if Madeline was there

David Payne said “One of our party saw Madeline being abducted,”

Now how can Jane Tanner describe the child’s pyjamas if the child was wrapped in a blanket? Also if she recognised the child as being Madeline according to David Payne why did she not say anything when she arrived at the table?

Matthew Olfield says he did not look to see if Madeline was in the room or not. Now one of the things you would do if you are checking on the children is to actually check that they are in the room. Either he did not carry out the check as he says, he is incompetent for not noticing one child was missing, or he did carry out the check and Madeline was there in which case Tanner is a liar, or Madeline was not there in which case by not saying anything for half an hour, he gave the abductor additional time to get away, as indeed did Tanner by not saying anything when she got to the table

My recollection of my children at that age is that they did not wake up easily, once asleep for the night. My girls could sleep through being carried around, loud music, etc., so the fact that the twins didn't wake up doesn't seem that unusual.

What I've always found strange is the fact that it took 25 days for the McCanns to hire a car. If one of my kids was missing in a foreign country, after my initial hysteria, I'd get mobile immediately. I'd drive around frantically, joining in the physical search. There is no possible way I could sit still. If the police asked me not to search, I'd beg, beg, beg until I got my way. I've never been able to figure out how the McCanns could be so, well, sedentary, and not getting a car for such a long time is the most obvious example of this. Every time I'd read about them taking a walk or going to church, I'd think, "How odd. I'd be combing the streets, looking into people's windows, searching the nature preserve nearby. Going for a walk or to church would feel like a waste of valuable time, if I were them." Does anyone else think this odd?

I totally agree about them wasting valuable searching time. Ive been reading Kevin Well's book about when his daughter Holly, and her Friend Jesica were missing. That man searched high and low, going for days at a time with no sleeep, he searched over and over again trying frantically to find his missing child. Ive never seen or hear of the McCanns physically looking for Madeleine at all.

The whole McCann thing is odd!
Only the McCanns and their loyal band of idiots claim Madeleine was abducted.I dont know what happened May 3, but one things clear. Gerry and Kate have acted with neglet and have defrauded over a million pounds. Now they are going to use the dodgey law firm that supports dictators!! Why are they not being held to account for what they have and are doing?

My guess is that they will get away with it. Get their own chat show, do a film, write a novel.
Do they sleep at night? Oh yes! Think of all that money!!

Has anyone actually thought that just maybe they have abducted their own child and she will appear a year on. Abducter a few grand better off. McCanns loaded and the police with egg on their faces?

Not likely, my theory is a daft as the McCanns version. Yet people are taking it all in.

Alexinnorfolk, LogicMan from the Mirror Forum, and I suspect others writing on the net, or even thinking quietly, have thought about 'THE HOAX' theory. To be fair I did read it all from LogicMan. In her diary Kate McCann has been reported to have written that she was unable to 'control' her 'hyperactive' kids, especially Madeleine.

Does anyone else find it odd that these 2 are spending money on PR instead of on private detectives? And hiring Pinochet's lawyer? Well that says it all.

It would be very interesting to hear how parents of children who go missing usually react. I'm sure most of them become restless, searching maniacs. The McCanns willingness let others do the physical searching is the most suspicious thing of all, in my humble opinion.

As for the diary entries about Ms. McCann's frustrations with her children and husband, if I had three toddlers under four, with a husband who didn't help enough, I'm sure my diary entries would have been even more unhappy. Those are very trying years - from my recollection. One of my girls was fairly hyperactive and accident prone, and I thought I'd lose my mind for a while there. (Now she's a track star - all that energy turned out to be a great thing.) So I don't find the diary entries damning at all. However, leaving the children alone with the door unlocked, the DNA evidence and blood in the flat (come on, kids don't bleed THAT often), and the nonsearching are the three things I find most strange.

Typical doctors, the McCanns... very adept at burying their mistakes.

Doctors like to exercise control over their patients, that's why they drug us, sedate us, and force us to wear pyjamas in hospitals. Hospitals and prisons have things in common-including the food!
Well, I do find words like 'control' and 'hyeractive' a little distasteful from a 'doctor', who is also a 'parent'. Remember this woman was supposed to have desperately wanted her children which is why she had IVF! The creche workers said Madeleine was a quiet child. All makes me wonder about the mental state of this person. Thank God my parents are not doctors! That's all I can say....

Think about that. I'm dad for three boys, twins at 6 yrs and youngest one 2 yrs. Every morning I go to their room where they all are sleeping. I lift twins out off the bed to other room and after that I wake them up. 2 yrs old son doesn't use to wake up but he is just continuing his sleep. So forget the theories that those little kids would havee been awaked fi somebody visited in their hotel room. I learn my lesson, never ever leave your kids unawared in the strange places.

I've been thinking a little about this point i.e. kids not waking up etc. I think it depends upon how safe and relaxed they are, no matter what age. Your kids feel safe with you, which is why they sleep so peacefully.
Madeleine didn't feel comfortable, for whatever reason, which is why she cried for her 'father' those two nights before. In the case of the twins, well, they may not have been emotionally close(they do seem to have been the preferred ones, my own opinion is that Madeleine was very much isolated in that household) and so, they may have felt loved and at ease, or they really were given something to make them sleep while something happened to Madeleine. I think emotional stress and unease causes sleeplessness no matter how tired you are.
