Flag mistake at UK-China ceremony
The government has been criticised for displaying the Union flag upside down at the signing of a trade agreement.
Does it mean that the agreement is not really binding, in the same way as when we, as a child, crossed our fingers? I don't think so. Still, I am one for accuracy and I suppose someone will have a red face today. And, it won't be the Chinese. Call me mellow yellow...
You will note in my photograph that the flag is actually the right way up, it just the wrong way around, like I noticed when a newspaper published a photo of me I recall I had been facing the other way.
