Shock defeat for Government in Commons over Gurkhas
The Government suffered a shock defeat today over the right of the Gurkhas to settle in the UK.
Is this the Avengers? With all the knife crime about I am surprised that Joanna Lumley has not been charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon. In any event, it's about time that Gordon Brown suffered a defeat. It's a shame Nick Clegg is such a coward when it comes to prisoners human rights to the vote.

They don't indeed. Show 'em some cold steel Joanna. Now let's see if they can get a living pension if they do come to the UK. Under 200 quid a month is a little on the low side for those who have fought and risked their lives for her madge and good old blighty.
In this country you stand more chance of being allowed to stay if you are missing one hand through making bombs in the past to throw at british soldiers than if you defended the queen with your own life.
