Epileptic prisoner tortured to death
Whilst I can understand that there may well have been insufficient evidence to make a charge of murder stick in this case, I fail to understand why the alternative charge of manslaughter was not proceeded with. The same applies with charges of Actual Bodily Harm as opposed to charges of Grievious Bodily Harm. I am normally opposed to the power of the Attorney General to refer cases back to the Crown Prosecution Service and the courts where an unduly lenient sentence has been deemed to be passed, but in this case I would make an exception. I feel that nothing short of a life sentence for these offenders would serve justice.

The people who did this are horrible they should have at least had a manslaughter charge.
I agree, it beggars belief that they could do it for 4 months.
It is a matter of absolutely minimal importance to you, or anyone else, but in view of my recent and harsh assessment of you, I thought it right to record my *almost* total agreement with you on this matter. My only disagreement is that in my view they should be hung by the neck until they are dead.
Capital punishment is not an option as it has been abolished. Still, I do not feel that the law was used to its full potential.
