Prisoner commits suicide in the dock of a court

There does appear to be a breach of security in the case of the prisoner who committed suicide in the dock of a court. Normally, the only thing one is allowed to take into court is paperwork relating to the case. Security staff would not normally allow a prisoner to have a bottle, especially if it was glass, containing liquid in case it contained alcohol disguised as a beverage. To allow a prisoner to take into court a bottle containing poison which he then drank unchallenged is unacceptable. In effect, the prisoner has defeated justice because he has escaped the sentence imposed.
