12 year old girl kills parents and brother after being grounded

A 12 year old Canadian girl stabbed to death her father, mother, and 8 year old brother, apparently in revenge for being grounded and having her computer privileges revoked. The girl, now 13, was found guilty of 3 counts of first degree murder by a jury. Incredibly, "She faces up to six years in detention and four months of probation". What on earth was she doing with a 23 year old boyfriend? Over here we would not call him that, we would call him a paedophile. Apparently, her parents forbade her to have contact with this man. Perhaps, they should have reported him to the police instead and they might be alive today?
