When in civvie street be a civilian
I think most working people are only too glad to remove their work clothes when they finish work. So, I cannot understand why Armed Forces personnel desire to wear their uniforms off duty and why normally they are encouraged to do so by their superior officers. During the Second World War uniforms were a babe magnet. But, that war was justified. Times have changed. Peoples attitudes to Iraq and Afghanistan are not the same and the wearing of uniforms carries a degree of shame. Perhaps, the best course of action is to blend in with the surroundings rather than try to stand out and become an obvious target?
A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.
