EU rejects Amber Alert and McCanns to be charged soon

EU rejects Amber Alert and McCanns to be charged soon

I don't know what the McCanns are laughing about, because they will be laughing on the other side of their face soon. Firstly, the European Parliament has rejected the McCanns Amber Alert scheme and decided instead to implement 116000, the single EU hotline number for missing children. Secondly, the Portuguese authorities have decided to charge the McCanns with child neglect and abandonment. When the McCanns are given the evidence of the case against them, the papers will highlight the necessary intent of the McCanns to neglect and abandon their children.

I have always admired these two for the superb and dedicated work thay have done and are doing.

They have not let the horror of mislaying their child stop them from building a very profitable business. With hard times around the corner they can sleep well knowing that financial stability is guarenteed.

It is a shame that they have not been able to convince the EU to bring in the Amber alert scheme.
Something all parents who leave their kids home alone will be disappointed to hear.

Maybe a sceme called......
"The parental guide scheme" would be a better idea.

All this a little late for Madeleine and that is the point.
It is not a silly scheme, the police, the portuguese people, possible abductor, the friends, even Mitchell. It is one thing only, the parents and for them to take full responsibility for their own actions.

Once that has happened the lessons can be learned and prevention can be taken.

Children deserve protection and caring. Something simply lacking in this case.

Finally! At least they'll be charged for something.

As for The Amber Alert - I'm not sure what the plans were for a European use, but here in the US, when a kid is abducted, signs go off all over the place (particularly highways) with descriptions, etc. It seems to work fairly well. But, to let the McCanns take credit, would be a discredit to the whole idea. That would certainly turn me off to it. They allowed this to happen - and that's giving them the benefit of the doubt.
