The one that got away

The one that got away

Unlike the hypocrite and liar Iain Dale, I make no bones about it, if I had heard about Prince Harry going off to fight his phoney war first I would have blogged it and claimed the exclusive.

Unlike The Drudge Report, I would not claim that I had No Idea that the story had first been broken elsewhere, and then repeated again elsewhere, before picking it up and claiming a worldwide exclusive. This smacks of dishonesty. Matt Drudge has now been exposed for being a fraud. There are two ways of dealing with a source. One is to protect your source if that person falls into the whistleblower category, and the other is to credit the source of the story to give it credibility and do the decent thing by giving credit where it is due. Originally, I gave Matt Drudge credit for breaking the story. This was misplaced and Matt Drudge now only deserves criticism for being a plagiarist, that is a stealer of other people's ideas and words.

I disagree with the witch hunt being waged against Jon Snow. It is just a shame he credits Matt Drudge with breaking the story. Now I only credit him with breaking wind. And, I am fed up with the MSM claiming that the whole of Britain hails Prince Harry as a hero. I for one don't. He has done nothing heroic. It's the 3rd in line to the throne King's new clothes. We are told he has a suit of green. But he is naked. Soon he will be awarded a medal for his supposed contribution to the war effort. Just as well he is not lying face down in the gutter because the yellow streak running up his back might be mistaken for a limited parking restriction being imposed. All this nonsense about the leaking of the story putting Prince Harry and real soldiers at risk, they put themselves at risk by signing up and the actions of the warmongers Bush and Blair have put them at greater risk.

It's not just Matt Drudge being less than honest, its also the MSM being dishonest.

Marina Hyde in the Guardian compares this BBC organised PR exercise with the Truman Show. I think that about sums it up. You couldn't even label it reality TV, let alone documentary.

I think credit is due to the House of Windsor for at least allowing one of their spawn actually into a theatre of war.
Admittedly it was a bit of a cotton wool one, but at least it was close to some actual action.
Whereas I have yet to see any of the House of Blair, or any other progeny from our elected representatives daring to get close to the illegal war their parents started.
But the conspirant in me wonders if perhaps our generals were hoping something might happen to the young prince.
Thereby having a lever to get out of these two disastrous wars, or get the supplies they have so disparately been starved of.
But very typical of a Yank to claim some one else's work as their own.

BB: I think your use of the term theatre of war sums it up, it was a staged performance. Not close enough to the action for my liking. This is like sticking your toe in the bath and then getting back out again. Why go through all the getting undressed and then towelling down and getting dressed again just for that? I agree the other bastards who either started or supported the wars should send their off spring to face the flak. I don't think the conspiracy theory works. Otherwise they would have shot him in the back. The other troops should demand that they get the same privilege as this 'ordinary soldier' and flown out of the war zone because otherwise they might get injured or killed.

Christ save us! Can you imagine your little outrage if I said: "typical Nigerian", "Typical Chinese".

But feel free. I suppose you've uncovered the American Exception to the Race Relations Act, 1996.

thisisstokenewington - they were Yanks when my father was supporting them island hopping in '44/'45 in the Pacific.
Just like he was a "LImey" to them.
However from personal experience I have seen our American cousins too eager to claim the fame, whilst being somewhat reluctant to carry their burden of any blame flying about.
Oh, I have worked and lived with both Nigerians & Chinese as well.
