A remote control helicopter may have been used to smuggle items into a prison, it has been revealed.
Guards using CCTV cameras at HMP Elmley in Sheerness, Kent, spotted the craft carrying a package towards an accommodation block on 23 December.
A Prison Service spokesman said: "A remote control helicopter was flown into the grounds.
"A search of the prison grounds and an accommodation block were carried out and nothing was found," he added.
