Why Elliott Morley has committed theft

Why Elliott Morley has committed theft

Elliot Morley

The Daily Telegraph is reporting "Andrew Mackay has resigned as Conservative leader David Cameron's Commons aide over "unacceptable" expenses claims.

Mr Mackay, the MP for Bracknell in Berkshire, is the first person to lose his job over the MPs’ expenses scandal
".

Correction. As Mr Mackay is still the MP for Bracknell in Berkshire, he clearly has not lost his job! Rather, all he has lost is his position within the Tory party which is not the same thing. As he can still act as an adviser behind the scenes...

Elliot Morley "I have made a mistake". If he made any mistake at all it was in getting caught! It cannot be described as a mistake to claim expenses of over £16,000 for a mortgage which had already been paid off. This is clearly obtaining money by deception. Theft. Fraud. Surely, if it was a genuine mistake then when Elliot Morley attempted to pay off the loan to the mortgage lender the latter would have informed him that he did not owe any money at all?

Mr Cameron must be livid that two of his MPs have let the side down by only having two houses between them - if they had had three (his, hers and theirs) then everything could have been ok
