MPs' expenses: 325 MPs told to 'pay up or explain'
At least 325 MPs will be ordered this week to repay money or provide further details of their parliamentary allowances by the head of an official inquiry into the Commons expenses scandal.
Sir Thomas Legg will dispatch hundreds of letters tomorrow notifying MPs of the findings of his investigation into the widespread abuse of allowances system uncovered by the Telegraph.
MPs returning from their summer break will also receive an email containing a point by point analysis of their use of the controversial Additional Costs Allowance (ACA), which is intended to cover the costs of running a second home.
It is about time these MPs were held to account. There are one hell of a lot of rotten apples in this barrel of fish.
