'Disturbance' at immigration unit
A police negotiator is in talks with detainees at an immigration centre in Cambridgeshire after what was described as a "disturbance".
It follows the death at the centre in Oakington of a 40-year-old male detainee in the early hours.
A number of officers wearing protective kit are reported to be at the scene.
There are no reports of injuries and the man's death is not being treated as suspicious. The centre is run by the UK Border Agency.
A spokesman said: "At about 3.55am there was a sudden death at the centre - a 40-year-old man, a detainee.
"Investigations are ongoing into that but we are not treating it as suspicious. Later in the morning - around 10am - there was also a disturbance involving detainees.
"We are currently at the scene negotiating. No-one has been hurt.
"At the moment we are negotiating with the detainees."
He added that he believed detainees were using the incident "as a way of protesting, trying to get their point of view across".
A BBC camera crew managed to film part of the disturbance
