Whilst watching this it struck me that Mr Forks may be able to use a word processor/computer where one has the facility to edit one's content before it goes live, but obviously suffered a case of "stage fright" when live on air and had to attempt to compose his argument as the situation progressed. This is not the same as having the luxury of time to compose a piece of comment behind a keyboard. His opponent, on the other hand was adept at public speaking and had the impetus of being a tad "angry" insomuch that he could not get the words out of his mouth fast enough! He also had more experience at defending himself against people of opposing views, which is one of the reasons that he holds the position he does.
Mr Spoons did indeed shoot himself in the foot; he should have preserved his anonymity just one step further and declined to be interviewed on Nosenight. Some people can write but not speak, others can speak and not make sense. Mr Knives appeared to be buggered at both ends of the fusebox.
Perhaps my previous comment was not at all fair.
I am damn sure that put on a soapbox in front of national TeeVee, I would have a personal dicky fit as well. It is all well and good to know what is in one's mind but to be asked to spout such in the gaze of the media is numbing. Perhaps different for those chaps actualy working in the media. Is this a fair contest?
Could anybody here say different? How would you fare under the gaze of the camera?
At least give the bloke full marks for trying.
