Home Secretary John Reid announced last year that he intended to move paedophiles out of Home Office approved premises adjacent to schools. However, I pointed out to BBC Look North, YTV Calendar, Radio Humberside and Viking FM, that the hostel in Queen's Road in Hull was next door but one to a primary school, 150 yards from a children's play area in Pearson Park, and 200 yards from a nursery on the corner of Park Avenue. And, that it housed paedophiles. John Reid stated that he had no plans to change this situation.
Tonight on BBC Look North, the hostel was thrown into the spotlight again, when it was announced that a paedophile, who has six convictions for sexually abusing young boys, is staying at the hostel. Parents are concerned over the issue, especially when photocopies of his photo and convictions have been distributed to them when taking their children past the hostel to the St. Vincent's primary school.
The Head of Humberside Probation Service, John Hemmings, stated that either the paedophiles stay there or they end up secretly housed in the community. In my view, I believe that John Reid is taking too great a risk with other people's children. And, that he owes them a better standard of care than he is showing them at present. There are approved premises in locations well away from primary schools. It appears simple too me to locate paedophiles there instead of subjecting them to temptation and putting primary school children unnecessarily in harms way.

????? ?????????????
You must be kidding me, right???
Come on, its some sort of joke. No idiot with any sort of power would make such a mistake, unless they were out of their heads on smack, innit???
You're NOT joking, are you???
Ron: Unfortunately, it's no joke. What makes it worse is that our local MP, Diana Johnson, accused me of trying to incite violence against these paedophiles living in the hostel, by trying to stir up vigilantes. This is untrue. I was merely expressing my concern and attempting to get John Reid to come to his senses. It appears that I have failed.
