I see some of the McCann friends have been wheeled out to say what spiffing parents they are. I know many people had commented before on the absence of any supporters other than the Tapas crowd and family.
What is galling about such gush is that it takes us nowhere. I'd hope my friends would think I was a great guy but who kknows what I get up to behind closed doors. For many years I dealt with Family Law. It became apparent that not all wife beaters were from the local council estate. People that look respectable by day can turn into complete and utter bastards once the key is in the door.
Next week, patients not killed by Dr Shipman tell us how he used to tell them jokes.
eric the fish: It reminds me of a prisoner called Jacko who used to draw cartoons, one in particular was the prison governor and prison chaplain and prison doctor all parrots on perches on trolleys being wheeled past prisoners cells in the punishment block.

John, love the previous photo about the McCanns being in Shit Creek. They certainly are given that Felicity Lowde thinks that they are innocent. I just hope that she hasn't contacted them, although perhaps she could give them advice about going on the run whilst keeping their blog going about the spite and malice being commited against them.

I feel that the possible turn of events as written by that sun could well be true.
What is so awful about this whole saga is the inability of people to think the worst. Perhaps it is unwillingness, rather than inability.....a literal example of "there but for the grace of God...." It's almost as if, if the McCanns are guilty, what does this say about us? They can't be, can they - so people choose to believe they are innocent because the opposite is unthinkable.
Very odd indeed. Usually, b***tards are b***tards, with no distinction. If the report from Sol is accurate, then the fact the McCanns were in possession of a book about covering up crime could not only indicate that Madeleine's death was accidental but was pre-meditated.
Imagine the media with that to feed the nation especially if the unthinkable becomes reality.

The McCann media campaign appears to be increasing: an "expert" was called upon today to question the findings of forensic evidence purported to have been discovered in Renault Scenic etc.
This is precisely the same tactic which is used in the SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) cases that have hit the headlines in recent years. For the experts whose interpretation is that the parents are child-killers, this interpretation is offered to substatiate the facts. For the parents, they are labelled as child-killers, regardless of guilt/innocence/proof etc.
So the issue becomes not one of guilt and innocence but one of right and wrong. Even when parents have been proven to be innocent, still there are sufficient "experts" to question whatever views may be expressed in support of the parents.
Why those who make mistakes can't simply say "sorry" is a mystery. Of course, in this day and age, one must consider litigation - or the threat of it but this is a poor excuse for not putting one's hands up. There are some States in the US who have decided on a different, more open and honest approach, where difficulties arise and the finger of blame is pointed (at the parents or the professionals). In those States where this now occurs, doctors have been actively encouraged to admit any errors made - with this result that the level of litigation has also decreased dramatically.
Some might view litigation v honesty as a chicken and egg situation, but the simple response must be that it is for the professionals to take the lead. Many people do not want litigation, but they use it only as a last resort because professionals will not acknowledge their errors. There will always be the chancers who will recognise that a quick buck can be made at someone else's expense but the fear of litigation should not prevent a more open and honest response.
