"A Labour Party councillor has been arrested in Belfast on suspicion of gross indecency and other offences.
Steven Bayes, a city councillor in Hull, was detained yesterday at a hotel room in the city centre.
The 45-year-old, who is also a former chairman of the Humberside Police Authority, had apparently been under surveillance".
