Rhys murderer attacked in prison
The teenager who murdered schoolboy Rhys Jones has been attacked in jail, the Prison Service has confirmed.
Sean Mercer, 18, was assaulted at HMP Moorland in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, but the incident was stopped by the "timely intervention" of staff.
The teenager was taken to hospital after the attack on 27 December, where he is thought to have been treated for a broken nose and facial injuries.
Mercer, of Croxteth, Liverpool, was jailed for 22 years last month.

Sounds like a bit of rough justice to me.
The bloke who did it deserves a medal!
darwen reporter- god save us from the half witted, who support law and order - as long as it leaves them room for a bit of illegal vigilante brutality. You wouldnt be so keen if minor journalists were beaten by random mobs in revenge for the tripe they infest public life with, would you?
He was a really nice young chap who was totally misunderstood. He was only trying to give the poor lad a bar of chocolate, but the weapon in his pocket just went off, anybody could understand that! How could anybody call him a thug just because he shot a young innocent boy! Society is sooooo hard on these poor misunderstood cunts.
Is it too late for me to say that he deserves what he gets in the pinch?
