Parakeets living wild in the UK

Parakeets living wild in the UK

Parakeets dine on nuts from bird feeders in a domestic back garden in Carshalton Beeches, Surrey. About 90% of the UK's population of wild parakeets are thought to live in and around London. It is not known for sure where the wild population originated from.

I've tried buying these nut containers but can't get them anywhere. Newland Avenue maybe.

James: There is a pet shop on Newland Avenue and I suspect that they will stock them.

That's an unusual site, I didn't realise any of them were wild.

I suspect some have escaped from prisoners cells, and others from ordinary households, and survived in the wild and bred...

This is an ex-parrot. It has ceased to be. It has shuffled off this mortal coil and gorn to join the bleedin' choir invisible.

It is odd when I first came to live in Spain they were every where...I have not seen one this year. They usually nest in the top of palm trees.
