Helicopter, 50 firefighters deployed to rescue dog

The Los Angeles Fire Department has defended its decision to deploy about 50 firefighters and a helicopter to rescue a dog from the Los Angeles River.

It at least saves the ridiculous cost of some idiot owner diving in to rescue the dog.

I lose track and despeair of the number of owners who die jumping in rivers, ponds, or the sea to rescue their dogs when the owner then dies and the dog nearly always lives.
