Tony Hitler

Tony Hitler

Well, that didn't take long did it?

Hat-Tip to Ron.

It probably would have taken longer if the person had given some thought to it first.

Hitler was a dictator, attempted to invade most of Europe, murdered 6 million plus Jews, travellers, trade unionists, homosexuals and dissidents.

Blair may well have embarked on more wars in a shorter period of time than any British Prime Minister in history, and his actions have almost certainly led to the deaths of 10's of thousands of innocent Iraqis. But he did so on the back of three parliamentary landslides, and took the decision to go to war through the House of Commons (which no other Prime Minister in history ever did).

What I am saying, John is the comparison is facile and insulting to those murdered by the Nazis, and is used by the likes of the BNP to deflect criticism from their spiritual leader.

PS - I ain't no Blairite. I was warning the Labour Party that the man was inherently a traditional Tory from the time he was elected in 1975.

Bob: The person is Polish and has no reason to love Hitler, and is the friend of a friend of mine and a blogger, though extreme at times, I like.

In my archives I have associated Blair with Hitler, after reading an essay by Lord Woolf, in which he stated that although Hitler was democratically elected, he in effect lost this right because he showed such contempt for the rule of law. I noticed this similarity to Blair.

Ron is no lover of the BNP, and neither am I. I don't believe that it is possible to insult the dead because they are beyond feeling. Perhaps, you meant relatives and friends of those killed in the holocaust? In any event, my intent was tongue in cheek dark humour. I am sorry that you found it distasteful.

Hi Bob

I am said perpetrator of aforementioned picture. Funny you should say what you did about it being insulting and all that, I showed it to my father who spent quite a few years in labour camps as a child in the war and all he did was laugh and asked if I could do some others!

People take this sort of japery far too seriously. If we worried about all the possible things which could upset others we would find ourselves locking the front door and staying at home, as the very action of going down the street dressed in british or foreign attire may offend somebody of another race or creed.

The main reason for the alteration is that as soon as I saw it I was reminded of those military paintings of Hitler. The style seemed so similar that I had to see what I could do with it. When my dad and my daughter saw it and burst out laughing I thought then of putting it on my blog.

If it made my dad laugh then it can't be all bad! (and he can be a real miserable git)

It is no good getting upset about something on somebody else's behalf as I have found that in most cases the other party cannot understand what the first party was getting uptight about. I have in the past been accused by others of being "racist" but when I mention my parentage it tends to make them think twice about said accusation.

Bob, do you know how the Jews survived all the atrocities committed to them in the last war? They made kokes about it! Some of the best comedians are jewish and a lot of their own material pokes fun at their own race and of course "Hitler" and the nazis!

Personaly I find it much more disturbing and insulting to have all your rights and civil liberties slowly eroded by faceless people in Brussels than to have to worry about a painting of tony hitler.

Go easy!

CORRECTION

for "kokes" in the second from last paragraph, replace with "jokes" as otherwise it could imply taking drugs.

BTW
Hitler failed in his invasion and attempted takeover of Great Britain in the last war. British prime ministers are now making up for it by handing the UK to europe on a plate now. What our grandparents fought for in the last war (which was to keep an individual country's sovereignty) is now being given away not only freely BUT with huge cash donations to foreign states.

What was the main objective of the second world war????

What I found most nauseating about the "official" Tony Wot's Name portrait, was that he had the gall to wear a poppy.
Perhaps Mr. Piper found ron knee's caricature a bit too close to the truth of how Tony Wot's Name & NuLabor will be remembered in the public's mind.

Bill, perhaps I should have made it clearer (I didn't think I could but I will). I couldn't give a toss about Blair.

Ron, I'm not over sensitive, nor was I particularly upset about the Jewish implications. Actually, given the way the Israelis are shagging half of the Middle East I don't think I would rush to defend them.

My reference was related to the fact that the BNP use exactly this sort of comparison to imply Hitler wasn't that bad, he was only like Tony Blair.

And if people like Barnacle Bill thinks equating New Labour to the Nazis is correct, then as I say, you are providing succor for idiots.

Still, I suppose no-one can be held responsible for other people's stupidity, so I'll not blame you,

All the best.

There's nothing to blame, Bob! If I wear a checked shirt one day and a member of the BNP sees me and thinks "Hmmm, I'll go get myself one of these and wear it as well" doesn't mean I have any connection with that BNP or any influence on what they choose to wear. I see that a lot of Labour politicians wear white shirts and a tie; so do members of the BNP. Does this mean that the labour party are giving the BNP ideas about dress sense?

And just for the record, Uncle Tone and greedy cherie have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are only in it for the money.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going. And when the going gets tougher they hand over leadership to the next incompetent rissole who wants to ride the gravy train.

bob I used to be a "Labour" supporter.
In fact upon a matter of principle as a ship owner during the miner's strike I refused to carry any coal cargoes into the UK.
Although I could have made a very tidy profit on the freight rates being paid at that time.
It was with hope I was glad when TB became Prime Minster.
Since then it has been a downward spiral of disappointment. Till I am now almost teeth gnashingly hateful of anything that has "NuLabor" attached to it.
OK you may not of given a toss about TB, but like numerous other "Labour" politicians with your acquiescence to the "NuLabor" third way in politics, have only become in my eyes like the ordinary German at the end of WWW2 - I was only following orders.
I'm actually ashamed I hold such views now bob, especially in view of my family's support for the Labour Party, and the sacrifices they made in fighting Nazism.
But that is the effect TB & "NuLabor" have had upon me.
