A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate"
(Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.

Viscount Linley the blackmailed Royal to raise funds for the Conservative Party
Viscount Linley the blackmailed Royal to raise funds for the Conservative Party
The article is also interesting since it illustrates one of the techniques the Tories use to hide the source of their funding and to allow impermissible foreign donors to make contributions. The £35,000 cost of a table is way above the reporting threshold to the Electoral Commission - but the Tories will only report donations from the fund raising committee. Not sure why it is wrong for Peter Hain to use a front company for donations (which he didn't in the end - presumably after taking legal advice) but it is ok for the Tories (ably assisted by Viscount Linley) to do so.
