George Osborne: "There is no alternative"

George Osborne: "There is no alternative"

Charlie Croker: 'Hang on a minute lads, I've got a great idea.'

Spending review 2010: There's no 'Plan B', says George Osborne

George Osborne has said there is no “Plan B” alternative to his programme of £81 billion in spending cuts.

"The best laid schemes of mice and men / Go oft awry". Therefore, it is advisable to have at least a Plan B.

"The Chancellor insisted that he will stick to his plan for cuts, even after economists suggested he should be prepared to change course if the UK economy slips back into recession".

I thought we were already still in a recession?

"Yet even as he ruled out any change in his spending plans, Mr Osborne signalled that in the event of a new economic slowdown, he would look to the Bank of England to help the economy".

So, we are massively in debt. Come the inevitable crunch George Osborne expects the Bank of England to bail us out. I seem to recall not so long ago that the taxpayers had to bail the banks out.

For all the back slapping when George Osborne gave his speech. I cannot wait for this Bullingdon Club twerp to be the subject of backstabbing when it all falls apart...
