Prisoner Ben: Don't shoot the messenger
As reported yesterday, Ben Gunn was before the Parole Board today. The official decision will be sent to Ben withn 7 days. However, unofficially, I have been informed that it was a "hard hearing". Ben's barrister was not happy with a female psychologist giving evidence, and was not happy with one of the panel members. Given this Ben and the barrister decided not to go for a direction for release, but instead to argue for open prison conditions. It is doubtful if even this attempt for a recommendation for decategorisation was successful. And even if the Parole Board did make the recommendation, that the MoJ would accept it.
A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.
