"God help your new-born baby", a "grossly offensive and menacing message"? It sounds to me like he's wishing the bairn well.
I bet the copper puts in a claim for compen for the stress he's suffered, and I bet he gets a big payout.
Ernest Bevin, once Home Secretary, was the son of a copper. He hated the police like poison and wouldn't stand any nonsense from them.
