The death of prisoner Baranovsky

The death of prisoner Baranovsky

A Ukrainian student, he came to this country in search of a better life, but lost it in a pool of blood in a British jail cell. How? Charlotte Rowles reports

When Aleksey Baranovsky came to England he had dreams of living well. In less than a decade those dreams turned to ash: his life became a nightmare and he bled to death, neglected and alone in a prison cell.

The system failed this man in the same way that the system failed Baby P.

Yes, this is the fear of jail - not the incarceration but what is done to you.
