The last Briton in Guantanamo faces death penalty

The last Briton in Guantanamo faces death penalty

After being held prisoner by the US for six years, inmate to be charged with terrorism offences despite protesting his innocence

"A British resident who is facing the death penalty in Guantanamo Bay has made a final desperate plea to Gordon Brown to end his six-year ordeal and bring him home today.

In a letter delivered to Downing Street, Binyam Mohamed, the last Guantanamo inmate with the automatic right to British residency, calls on the Prime Minister to use his influence with President George Bush to stop an American military "kangaroo court" sending him to his death".

I am concerned about the rather vague terrorist related offences. It does appear that the US under Bush are determined to have a show trial. Something to show for this so-called war on terror.

I just hope that Gordon Brown is not too busy trying to stay in power himself and too busy assisting the McCanns to bring this man back home?

Main Entry:
kangaroo court
Function:
noun
Date:
1853

1 : a mock court in which the principles of law and justice are disregarded or perverted 2 : a court characterized by irresponsible, unauthorized, or irregular status or procedures 3 : judgment or punishment given outside of legal procedure

What is happening to this prisoner is definitely not acceptable. As with Australias David Hicks, they wouldn't of just picked him up for no reason, something would of triggered it off.
#3: definition of kangaroo court...isn't that what the campaign against the McCanns is? Judgement given outside of legal procedure??
