A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate"
(Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.
I can echo that from second-hand experience. I've met lots of people messed up by care homes, many of them in prison. I have also met too many ASD people in prison. Asperger's, in particular, gets banged up much too much, and without any understanding or attempt to understand whatever.
What you have suffered, John, is unimaginable (to someone of my life experience)and unforgivable. There is a great deal here for society to be deeply ashamed of.

"Taken into care" is a misnomer even to this day.
Children taken into care are being passed around from pillar to post which is no way to look after the well-being of a youngster.
What is needed is a stable environment, understanding, love and a substitute parental influence of some sort.
I hope you understand what I mean because my words seem quite clumsy to me.
CP: I understand just fine. Thanks ;-)
