Canada's Federal Prison System under attack



OTTAWA — Canada's blueprint for overhauling federal prisons is an amateur and "alarming" document that ignores human rights, gives the false impression that crime is rising, and provides no costs for flawed policies that would flood penitentiaries with more inmates, says a new report.

Hi John

If you read the comments on this story there is not much sympathy for the article. We are so soft on criminals it isn't funny.

If you did your crime here you would have been back on the streets in five or tens years. That is if you didn't get off entirely because of sympathy for your background.

I wasn't passing any judgement one way or the other, merely posting the news. I will try and get around to reading the comments tomorrow.
