Supreme Court in the act
The Supreme Court has got its website up and running. As you can see below, it has jurisdiction in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. And yet, the emblem of the Supreme Court includes a thistle which is the emblem of Scotland. So, what happened to devolution? More importantly, it is not really the Supreme Court like in the US because it does not have the power to strike down offending legislation.
The Supreme Court is the final court of appeal in the UK for civil cases. It hears appeals in criminal cases from England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It hears cases of the greatest public or constitutional importance affecting the whole population.
A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.
