South African police plan 'shoot to kill' policy ahead of 2010 World Cup

Police in South Africa are planning a zero tolerance policy which could include issuing orders to 'shoot to kill' suspected criminals in time for the World Cup finals next year.

The new police commissioner in one of the world's most crime-ridden countries is pushing for a return to the apartheid-era policy which would allow his officers to shoot criminals in the back.

Bheki Cele, who has won support for his plan from the government, said the poice should be allowed to open fire without fear of "what happens after that".

Why? Because we're living in a war-zone, that's why. 20-30 murders a day, every single day, in a country of 44 million people. That's equivalent to the Iraq War at its height. Only its been going on for 15 years.

Most criminals here are militarily trained, veterans of the civil wars that raged here for decades. They carry out attacks with high detail of planning and precision. They're armed with AK47 and R5 assault rifles, full auto. They pour petrol through the vents of an armoured car, for instance, and then set it alight, thus burning to death the guards inside.

They go into your house, and torture you by pouring boiling water over you, and whipping you with electric cords. Raping everyone from 6 month old babies to 90 year old grandmothers.

These are everyday occurrences in South Africa. And I mean EVERY day. We've become completely numbed to violence. It's so common we don't notice it any more.

So I think this policy is justified. It's also aimed at protecting all you people coming to the Word Cup. You're going to be sitting ducks, hahahaha!

Come to South Africa,
And Die
