Mayor of London honours paedophile with statue
I think that it is a bit primitive in this day and age that we still worship statues. I question whether we should be looking up to them at all. Here stands the statue of a paedophile, should we really be looking up to him? Hardly a statue of virtue is he? It was not that long ago that I witnessed the toppling of a statue of Saddam Hussein. Why is this statue in Whitehall still standing? At the very least, it could be covered by some kind of sheeting until it is removed.
If we are going to honour those at all, who do not have a secret past, then lets at least do so say with a building, a hospital or school or such like.
I trust that some MP from one of the main parties will be raising the question in Parliament whether it is fitting that this statue should remain in place?
UPDATE: More here. And, it won't happen again. At least, not until the next time.

If its proven then pull it down, something he might have said on a few occasions!
Mind you the fact Red Ken is involved doesn't suprise me. He was behind terrorist Mandela getting a statue
Although Mandela the freedom fighter is a hero of mine, I still don't agree with a statue in his honour. However, Mandela House in Peckham is a good example how we can remember the good and the great.
What is the Red Ken connection John? Is this a fairly new statue?
Chris: The only connection I can think of is that the statue is in London and he is, after all, the Mayor of London. I know that Ken can be quite vociferous on some issues. I just feel that he should be speaking up on this one and taking some kind of proactive stance. There needs to be some kind of public/official recognition that kiddy fiddlers are not looked up to.
Onca again young man you score highly on the dubious headlining count! As we expect.
Chris: I like the young man bit. I'm in training for The Sun don't you know...
