First there was the NHS computer fiasco, and now we have the National Offender Management Service (NOMS) computer fiasco. Naturally, the estimated cost has gone up from £234M to £950M. Amazingly, "The system has been tested in three Isle of Wight prisons at a cost of £69M", and if the system has to be scaled down, it will cost a further £50M penalty if NOMS has to breach its contract.
Tracking criminals is a failure, wasting taxpayers money is a success.
