One of the Tapas Bar 9 has spoken out for the first time, breaking the Gerry McCann "omerta" the Mafia code of silence, to complain about alleged police leaks and the "smear" campaign in the Portugese media, "which has labelled them as suspects in the disappearance of" Madeleine McCann. The weakness in the Tapas Bar 9s "Madeleine was abducted" claim, is the narrow window of opportunity offered to anyone who may have been watching their movements, given their claim that they regularly checked upon the children.
"According to police statements leaked to Spanish magazine, Sol, Mr McCann checked the children at 9.05pm.
His friend Jane Tanner said that ten minutes after he returned to the table, it was her turn to check the rooms.
A few minutes later Dr Oldfield checked, entering the room and seeing the McCann children asleep.
An aerobics teacher from the resort who joined the table at 9.30pm said there was a vacant seat.
It was at 10pm that Mrs McCann discovered Madeleine had disappeared, and the twins remained sound asleep".
It would appear that they were up and down like Yo-Yos. Surely, all these interruptions would have spoiled a good evening out? What is strange is that non of the group made use of "Mark Warner offers families a baby-sitting service where they can drop off their children for the night.

In the recent radio interview on Woman's Hour on Radio 4, Kate McCann said that she thought the children were safe. Surely, they would have been safer had they used the baby-sitting facilities? She did not answer the question why they did not use these services, instead she said that hundreds of people had told her that they would have done the same, that is, leave their young children unattended for a lengthy period. Between the McCanns apartment and the Tapas Bar is a swimming pool, I would not have thought that it was safe to risk the children being unattended.
UPDATE: Portugese want these bloody McCanns to leave Portugal because they are given the place a bad name. As a result, the McCanns have abandoned their latest publicity stunt intending to tour Portugal this weekend.
