A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.

I'm sure loads to Rothley residents have common sense but have been airbrushed out of public comment. Any of us with questions on this weird case have been sent to the gulag of public opinion. This has to be one of the weirdest episodes of our lifetime.
I've so many questions, not least, if it's possible for the people of Zimbabwe and Nigeria to regularly tell Gordon Brown to go to hell when he tries to meddle in their affairs, why on earth did the Portuguese authorities let Gordon Brown help this pair. I don't know what happened to the child and I'm not willing to speculate, but fact is, if you leave 3 kids under five on their own, you're charged with neglect and cruelty. And why the secrecy laws in Portugal? What a joke, as people can brief through spin doctors on the same case. In this country, the police aren't perfect, but they can start giving press conferences immediately, so it's impossible for anyone to manipulate info getting out to the public.
And I think if this happened in UK, the case would've been solved pronto.
Also, this isn't a class thing. Dr Shipman and several other doctors have been dealt with by the law.
This is just too odd for words.
Poor kid!
No use appealing to people's consciences as the people involved in this haven't any.
Perhaps we'd find out what happened in future under the 30 year rule.
Another mystery - if it's ok for media to accuse Prince Phillip of killing people who were obviously in a car crash, why aren't people allowed even to question people involved in this case?

Rothley is not a village.
The newly built Crescent where the McCann's recently bought into is part of Mount Sorrel.
Needless to say neither kate nor Gerry are locals and they were not known locally until 12 months ago.
It is ALL BULLSHIT.

Rothley is a village, but has grown too much over the years and joined up with mountsorrel. I was born in Rothley and like most of the people I grew up with could not afford to stay.
It used to be a brilliant community, but now is full of strangers. The McCann's are part of the newcomers who have the money to buy a house there. A house that was built on the lovely fields that saw a generation grow up.
Alot of the people who have moved into Rothley have more money than the majority of original villagers who had to move out. Having too much money to focus on can hinder family bonds and the natural instincts of parents. In the desire to acheive a different set of priorities ie earning MORE money and spending it on fancy holidays and posh resturants children can be pushed aside. Life was simpler and better for children when there was only money for the basic needs.
Thats probably why Rothleys full of idiots now as they earn too much money, more than they need for the simple life.
