Gerry and Kate McCann, the parents responsible for the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine, and possibly for her death, are considering suing a TV reporter for libel for intimating that the McCanns may have murdered Madeleine.

No its a disappearance and an accidental death thats the latest. I think we should be worried as they have a £1 million pound fighting fund.
Strange that their professional reputation has now taken priority ahead of Madeleine. Then again if they had their priorities in order Madeleine would not be missing.
zinzin: I suspect that the police are mentioning the "accidental death" line to hook the McCanns into coming forward with an admission that her death was accidental and that they panicked and disposed of her body.
It is now understood that the direction of the inquiry changed a month ago, when a key piece of evidence emerged, which has not been disclosed.

No, I didn't mean it about the war. They have been great, the Portuguese cops. Hard for them to deal with such a concerted put-up set of realities as those cobbled together by John and Yoko McCann and seemingly the entire disgraceful, discredited British print media which is almost diametrically opposed to what real people are actually saying about this ghastly pair and their chums but at last they seem to be getting there.
The "accidental death" thing is difficult to understand other than in the light of what you say -making an admission from the McCanns a little easier. They won't though, will they? They have constructed this edifice of naivety and innocence so successfully that they probably believe it themselves, even though nobody else does. Interesting that even the Daily Mail, albeit in its readers' views, is now printing nasty stuff about them.
Revolting as they are one can nearly feel a little sympathy for them as, crying Wolf! again, it all starts to unravel. But only nearly.
We must hope that they go to prisons at separate ends of the country and spend a lot of time on rule 43.
It is somewhat ironic, that as medical people, the McCanns will be obliged by the nature of their positions to actively report child abuse if and when it is suspected, when the parent may be responsible. Equally, the law is lacking in that there are no facilities in place to challenge any wrongful accusations that may have been made by any healtchare professionals. In other words, healthcare workers, particularly paediatricians, are encouraged to view their concerns, knowing full well that they cannot be held responsible or accountable for any erroneous comments they make. Many innocent parents have had their lives disrupted and have no recourse in law. Now, the McCanns find themself in the very situation that they and their medical colleagues support i.e. accusing a parent of harming a child, except in this instance they are the ones being accused. Perhaps this experience will highlight the inequality of this current law that an accused parent in effect has to be able to establish innocence, or be proven so by others - rather than being innocent until proven guilty.

Seems there may be profit in Child Neglect afterall.
The McCanns are so weird. How were they so composed after their daughter's disappearance? Look at Mr. McCann's eyes, his expression. There are many, many detectives watching this case who are just waiting for the day he cracks. The question is, does Mrs. McCann know what he did?
