Money and the lack of and Red Cross food parcels etc

Money and the lack of and Red Cross food parcels etc

I feel like a prisoner of war in this war on want. Yesterday afternoon RonKnee arrived at the door with a couple of Red Cross food parcels (two shopping bags). Rocky did his bark cum whine, 'quick open the door I know he he has brought me some treats and gives me a fuss'. Last night I felt spoilt for choice as I thought about what to prepare for tea. Of late there has been no choice, it's been 2 of Tesco's 10p sausages slapped between two slices of bread.

I have to sort out a deposit of £17.98 before the bank closes on Tuesday evening ready for the Direct Debit for my internet charge on Wednesday morning being the 15th of the month. Naturally, my Job Seeker's Allowance does not get paid in until Thursday the 16th!

This is good news...

Five million customers should receive up to £70 fuel bill rebates, says charity

It is annoying that the poorest are being hit the hardest, especially with the over charging on pre-payment meters. The same goes for the banks who charge £28 for being unable to meet Direct Debit payments. The banks have no mercy for us and yet they plead for mercy from the government and ask for public money to bail them out. Whilst there is a block on my being able to take NatWest to court until a judgment is delivered on bank charges, no such restriction is imposed on the banks still making such charges. I feel the banks should be prevented from making such charges until the judgment is made. It's all a bit one-sided.

UPDATE: A rich benefactor has agreed to put £100 in my bank account today, so at least I can stay afloat.

jailhouselawyer,

It's casino capitalism funded by taxpayers. PFI's, privatized care of our elderly, Titan prisons all prime examples of vast profiteering - all under wraps !
