Menezes officer changed evidence

Menezes officer changed evidence

An investigation has begun after an officer admitted changing evidence during the inquest into the death of Jean Charles de Menezes.

The Special Branch officer, named as Owen, said he deleted a line from computer notes which quoted Deputy Assistant Commissioner Cressida Dick.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission said it would investigate
.

I watched Simon Israel's excellent report and analysis on Ch4 News tonight.

jailhouselawyer,

True or false ? Media also reported Sir Ian 'resigned' whilst, according to him, he was 'fired'. Confirms the media's increasingly used as a 'political tool'.

It was reported at the time of the incident that Menezes was an illegal immigrant. Is his family suing for compensation ?

The case of Jean Charles de Menezes is commented upon here, and some independent analysis of the inquest transcripts (other than the standard PA/Google reports) is here.

Note that a number of the 'witnesses'/participants questioned in the inquest are not 'sworn' in the court, merely 'affirmed'.

There is a lot of material to research.

The story of how the 3 'suspects' who were noted in the early hours of the morning of 22nd July 22nd 2005 is very suspect. Look at the appaling quality images presented to the jury.

The 3 'suspects' names touted were
1. Hussain Osman (we are told that JCdM was mistaken for him)
2. Abdi Samad Omar (cited as 'Warren St. suspect)
3. Elias Girma Eyassu

All 3 of the suspects were under prior surveillance at the Lake District 'Terror training Camp' in May 2004 (as featured in the Mohammed Hamid trial & very briefly in the July 21st 'bombers' trial).

No. 3, who was out of the country in July 2005, is currently under a control order, and has been indetention since he returned to the UK in December 2006.

No journos are researching these facts.
