Too inexperienced judge gave 72 year old cancer sufferer prison term

Too inexperienced judge gave 72 year old cancer sufferer prison term

Recorder Lesley Anderson QC has no experience of criminal matters, and yet she was allowed to sit in judgment over a criminal trial and cocked it up.

A glance at Recorder Lesley Anderson QC's profile shows that in 2006 she took silk and became a recorder in the same year, therefore she gained no experience as a QC in criminal trials before becoming a judge.

It has to be said, her acting for the government may well have seen her being promoted above more capable and more experienced QCs.

Anderson sentenced not for what June Iddon actually did, but for what the judge in her own mind thought might have happened. But, it didn't happen. So, this judge has abused her powers by inflicting a punishment for what amounts to thought crime. Moreover, the judge came over all high and mighty clouding her judgment on moral issues. Given that June Iddon had exercised her right to plead not guilty, it follows that she is innocent until proven guilty, therefore how can somebody in this position be expected to show remorse?

If this judge was not intellectually dishonest, she would admit that she imposed the sentence purely and simply because June Iddon chose to exercise her right to plead not guilty.

Shame on you judge!

jailhouselawyer,

Recently read that the British justice system is 'breaking at the seams' and is underfunded.

She needs a good shagging. I would do it if you could put a hessian sack over her head.
