Man arrested over rape 28 years ago
Detectives armed with new forensic evidence arrested a man today in connection with the rape of a teenage girl 28 years ago.
A 62-year-old man was arrested at his home in Swanscombe, Kent, by officers from Thames Valley Police.
On 25 April 1980 a 17-year-old girl was walking home from a night out along Micklefield Road in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, when she was dragged to a nearby railway embankment and raped by two men, a force spokesman said.
He added: "Officers working with the Crown Prosecution Service and the Forensic Science Laboratory have uncovered significant new forensic evidence, which led to the identity of the person in custody".
I should imagine that the man was as shocked as his victim it coming out of the blue so unexpectedly. I think this is called poetic justice.
UPDATE:
It would appear that this crocodile ate the wrong 62 year old man...

jailhouselawyer,
A big thanks to the 'boys in blue and, presumably, the application of LCN forensics in re-opened case.
Incredible technology and DNA is foolproof despite the passing of time.
