Mother who killed daughter given life of a sorts...
"Passing sentence, Judge Clement Goldstone QC said she had brought "indescribable pain and grief" to everyone who loved Bethany including both Mr Kennerley and Mr Davies.
Caudwell was jailed for the mandatory life sentence and ordered to serve a minimum of eight years before parole".
Let me get this straight. Murder is a worse crime than manslaughter on the Statute Books, and yet the maximum for both is a life sentence. For murder it is mandatory, but for manslaughter it is at the discretion of the judge. Murder being worse, perhaps somebody can explain to me why this case only warranted a 8 year tariff, and my manslaughter received a 15 year tariff? I actually served 25 years!
Helen Caudwell can kill 2 more children at 8 years each, that would be 24 years in total.
If she got justice, did I get an injustice?

Judicial reform is needed.
No you didn't get justice. In Canada you would have probably gotten about 5 years given the circumstances of the case.
What makes a difference in the justice system is how much you are able to con the judge. It is all about attitude. You need to need to look up with pleading remorseful eyes and generally be a suck up.
