A traditional butcher has been banned from chopping meat in the morning because residents complain he makes too much noise.
What is it about Barking mad magistrates? Perhaps a solution would be to rent out the flat above the shop to someone who is hard of hearing or stone deaf?
A gardener who fenced off his allotment patch with a single strand of barbed wire to protect it from thieves has been ordered to take it down in case intruders hurt themselves.
I don't think a single strand is going to deter anybody, at 3 foot high, it's simply a matter of ducking under it. I have coils of German Razor Wire at the back of my house on top of the wall and running along the edge of the roof. This is not about the health and safety of others, but mine and security. It is all very well the gardener being told to contact the police, I suspect he will be fed up of their lack of response.
A 76-year-old man who has dedicated himself to a life of crime is finally going straight after complaining that burglary these days is too hard.
Even in the late 1960s and early 1970s I noticed that things were getting harder for the 'honest burglar'. CCTV we were told was for monitoring traffic. How times have changed...

LOL at the last one :-)
Cherrypie: A great grandfather too! What is it with the younger generation letting him carry on? In my day, the offspring would have carried on the family tradition. Still, the realisation faces most of us that there comes a time to retire. Usually it's about 50 years of age.
