Four on run from detention centre
Four immigrants have gone on the run after escaping from a detention camp via a network of pipes.
he Vietnamese men broke out of the Oakington Immigration Centre in Longstanton, Cambridgeshire.
They are believed to have cut through razor wire fences after crawling through a metal service duct similar to those used for air conditioning.
"We are currently working to recapture four detainees," a spokesman for the UK Border Agency said.
He said: "This is an ongoing operation so we cannot comment further. We believe that these men do not pose a threat to the public".
The spokesman said the men, who escaped the overnight lock-up between Thursday and Friday last week, were being detained on suspicion of possessing cannabis and forged documents.
The centre, a former RAF base, can hold up to 352 men and opened in 2000.
I seem to recall that the Vietnamese were very good at tunneling during the Vietnam War. Good Morning Vietnam! And Danny Boy springs to mind, the pipes the pipes are calling...
Given that this occurred last week, I wonder why it has taken so long for the news to emerge?
Police continue to hunt absconder
Police are continuing to hunt a convicted sex offender who escaped from a psychiatric hospital in west London.
Once again there has been a delay in publicly announcing this abscond. Given that he is deemed a risk to women, I feel that a warning should have been released as soon as he was found to be missing.

Is the escapee sex offender an immigrant ?
Nah, women are expendable. Plenty more where they come from. Over 2 a week die of violence at the hands of their partners. What's the pigs do in response to that? teach the bitches self defence! Nothing like dealing with the problem at source eh?

Is there a system in place for the immediate deportation of immigrants who arrive with a record of sex offences ?
