"YORKSHIRE DAY is when local folk should read out their ‘declarations of integrity‘ whilst facing towards the county’s ancient capital of York.
The reading commences at the time that coincides with the number of years since the first recorded reference to the three Ridings of Yorkshire in the year 876. This year following tradition it should be at 11.34am – so this post has been published at 11.34am on Sunday 1st August 2010".
