U Turn: Man 'linked to Bin Laden' freed
A terror suspect said to have "direct links" with Osama Bin Laden has been freed on bail, the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (Siac) has said.
The Algerian, who can be identified only as "U", has been released from Long Lartin high-security prison, in Worcestershire.
He had spent more than seven years in jail awaiting deportation.
It comes two weeks after Abu Qatada, described as Bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe, was freed on bail.
For the "crime" of wanting to stay in this country, the "penalty" is 7 years imprisonment. For having the worst category of child pornography on your computer, the sentence is 2 years.
What kind of country do we live in? Sometimes I think it is a madhouse and at others I think it is a banana republic. Where is this so-called liberal democratic country called Britain I keep reading about? Could it just be on another planet?
