Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)

Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)

Last night I popped out about 5.30 to go to the local shop to get Rocky a tin of dog food, and on my way back I saw this half a house brick just laying there and I did wonder how it had ended up where it was...

...I thought it might have had something to do with 6 year old Marcus, the Latvian boy, living at number 4, who always appears to be up to mischief damaging this, that and the other rather than playing quietly outside or in the kiddies play area nearby.

As Rocky was eating his dog food, I sat in the lounge and noticed the front end of a police car, in the next street, parked outside of the empty number 4 Adderbury Grove. It gave me a nervous feeling in my stomach. Being on life licence I am liable to recall to prison. It has already happened once and I was recalled without justification, being released 4 months later!

Then I saw 2 police officers getting into the police car, and it started to drive off and just when I let out a sigh of relief this happened...

...all hell broke loose. An Armed Response Unit came charging around the corner, and they appeared not to be interested with me in number 5 Adderbury Crescent but instead the focus of their attention was number 6 next door.

See the videos on YouTube...

I wasn't very helpful when it came to naming who lives in number 6, but I did unlock the gate between our houses which leads to the back doors. And said that the old couple at number 1 knows the names of those at number 6. The police said that they had already spoken to them, but they hadn't.

Later, I spoke with the old couple. They were sorry that they had missed all the action. They reminded me of the names of my next door neighbours. I said I didn't see why they would be interested in Pete. The old man then suggested it might have something to do with Lee, Pete's youngest son, whom he had witnessed involved in a confrontation with two other young men. The half brick was thrown at or towards Lee, and he was saying "C'mon, then" before going into number 6. The old man saw and heard no more, so I assume that Lee emerged with a weapon of some kind, and someone called the police, hence the Armed Response Unit turning up outside my front door.

That would be a bit too much action for me!

CP: Exciting, but with itchy trigger fingers and shoot first and ask questions afterwards mentality...I agree with you.
